Yiannis Kosmas Takes Lead in Promoting Mozambique Tourism with Anantara Bazaruto Resort

Yiannis Kosmas, an unconventional dreamer and visionary, has long been immersed in the realm of management. Recently, he seized the opportunity to explore the potential of tourism, drawn by the allure of Mozambique’s offerings.

Born in the coastal town of Koroni, Greece, Kosmas embarked on a journey to Mozambique in October 2021, with a primary agenda of visiting Anantara-Bazaruto, a prominent hotel within the Minor Hotels network, of which he was already a part. Expressing astonishment at the beauty surpassing even the photographs, Kosmas acknowledged Mozambique’s wonders and the warmth of its people.

Driven by a desire to delve into Mozambique’s narratives, both positive and negative, Kosmas envisions the country as a premier tourist destination. With its pristine beaches, delectable cuisine, hospitable locals, tropical climate, safari experiences, and warm waters, Mozambique possesses a unique blend of attractions, making it stand out in the tourism landscape.

Confident in his abilities, Kosmas assumed the management responsibility of Anantara Bazaruto, aiming to showcase the country’s tourism potential to the world. He emphasized the importance of honoring local culture and community, positioning Anantara Bazaruto as a beacon of authenticity.

Through Anantara Bazaruto’s commitment to authenticity and local culture, Kosmas aims to broaden the country’s exposure to a global audience. With 50 Anantara properties worldwide, part of a network of over 500 hotels and resorts under Minor Hotels, Mozambique’s tourism potential becomes boundless.

However, Kosmas stresses the need to establish a robust tourism value chain to enhance mobility and connectivity between destinations. He advocates for improvements in airport infrastructure and services, as well as reduced airport fees, to attract more airlines and expand Mozambique’s connectivity globally.
