In a significant development, the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has officially confirmed the signing of a new Vivanta hotel in the ancient pilgrim city of Haridwar, situated in the spiritual state of Uttarakhand. The announcement marks a strategic move for IHCL, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing its footprint in spiritual tourism.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, stating, “This signing aligns with IHCL’s vision of expanding its presence in spiritual tourism. Haridwar, positioned on the banks of the sacred river Ganges, holds a special place as one of the holiest destinations in India. This will be our third hotel in the city, and we are pleased to partner with LD Ladhani Group for this Greenfield project.”
The 125-keys hotel is strategically positioned within a convenient driving distance from the renowned ‘Har Ki Pauri’ and prominent temples. The establishment is set to feature an all-day diner, a swimming pool, and a fitness center. Additionally, it will provide a sophisticated banqueting space spanning over 7,500 sq ft, catering to both corporate gatherings and social events.
Roshan Ladhani, Director, LD Ladhani Group, expressed delight about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to join forces with IHCL, India’s leading hospitality company. This hotel will offer guests a taste of the vibrant Vivanta brand in the sacred city of Haridwar.”
Haridwar, nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, is a renowned Hindu temple town where millions of devotees flock to take a dip in the holy Ganges. Serving as the gateway to the Char Dham of Uttarakhand, the city acts as a base for exploring tourist towns like Rishikesh and Devprayag.
With the addition of this new hotel, IHCL is set to have a total of 10 hotels across its Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger brands in Uttarakhand, including five under development. This expansion underscores IHCL’s commitment to providing diverse and enriching hospitality experiences in the region.
