LEMON TREE HOTELS LTD. RELEASES FIRST REPORT ON ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND GOVERNANCE PERFORMANCE

Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd. today released its FY21 Sustainability Report that outlines its current Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and the company’s FY26 Sustainability Goals and Targets. The full report can be accessed here.

Through Lemon Tree’s Sustainability Program, the company has made a commitment to creating a positive social and environmental impact across its operations, supply chain and extended community.

Mr. Patu Keswani, Chairman & Managing Director, Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd., said, “I am delighted to share the first edition of our ESG Report which outlines our commitment towards long term sustainability. Over the years, we have undertaken several initiatives to create a positive impact wherever we do business and have delivered value through and to our employees, leadership team, customers, investors, owners and the community at large. Lemon Tree has demonstrated environmental stewardship through its energy, water and waste reduction efforts as well as social growth through its programs around inclusion, mainstream employment of marginalized segments and community engagement.”

In FY21, the COVID-19 pandemic created significant challenges for all sectors and deeply impacted the hospitality industry. Lemon Tree was able to redefine its business model and continue to work with and support communities across India:

·         Through partnerships with state governments, we converted a number of our hotels into quarantine centers for Indians returning from foreign countries

·         Under our program, ‘Support by Lemon Tree’, we provided accommodation to house COVID patients at our hotels in partnership with leading hospital chains (more than 1000 rooms)

·         Our ‘Rest Assured’ initiative, in partnership with Diversey, defined sanitization protocols, laid down a set of new house rules and preventive measures to be followed by guests, visitors and team members at our properties

·         Select hotels worked closely with local administration and other stakeholders to provide free packed meals to affected communities during the lockdown
