Written by InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort announced the appointment of Karigalan Shanmugam as the IT Manager. In his current role, he will overlook the resort’s IT function, development and implementation of IT strategies. He joined in the hospitality industry as a FMS Engineer at Taj Coromandel. Later, he joined Novotel Chennai SIPCOT as an IT Executive and rose through the ranks to become an IT Manager in different properties, including IBIS Chennai City Centre as Assistant Manager IT and Novotel Chennai Chambers Road as IT Manager. In his 12 years journey Karigalan has been a preopening champion, having opened three hotels and running them successfully. He was also recognized and honored as the IT Person of the Year by Accor.
Commenting on his joining, Karigalan mentioned “I will focus to motivate the team, nature their spirit of striving-for-excellence, and providing guidance on developing strategies with urgency that will drive the awareness and keep the resort compliant with respect to technology enhancing the guest experience.”
