Damon Wright Takes the Helm as Director of Beverage and Food
Damon Wright assumes the pivotal role of Director of Beverage and Food, bringing with him a wealth of experience garnered over 15 years in the hospitality industry. Wright’s journey in managerial roles commenced at the Pullman DCC hotel in Dubai a decade ago, laying the foundation for his expertise in food and beverage operations. His international exposure includes significant contributions in locations such as Bangkok, where he played a crucial role in the success of Novotel.
Wright’s diverse career includes valuable stints at esteemed establishments like Courtyard by Marriott Green Community Dubai, Swissotel Al Murooj, and Swissotel Living in Dubai. Notably, he recently served as the Executive Assistant Manager overseeing food and beverage operations at Shangri-La – Al Husn, Al Bandar, Al Waha in Muscat, Oman.
Mohammed Ali Assumes the Role of Director of Security
With a commendable track record of over 15 years in the security sector within the UAE, Mohammed Ali steps into the position of Director of Security at W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island. Ali, who has been serving as Director of Security since 2015, previously contributed to The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal, holding the role of Multi-Property Director of Loss Prevention. In this capacity, he oversaw operations at both The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal and Marriott Al Forsan.
Jean-Paul Slap Elevates Guest Experience as Director of Rooms
Jean-Paul Slap, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, is appointed as the Director of Rooms. His extensive background spans countries such as Singapore, Belgium, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Austria. Slap has held various significant roles, including Director of Rooms, Executive Assistant Manager overseeing rooms, and Resort Manager, among others.
Slap’s most recent position was as Rooms Division Executive at Sheraton Grand Salzburg, Austria, where he made substantial contributions to the hotel’s operations. Hailing from Belgium, Slap’s proficiency in Dutch, English, French, and German enhances effective communication, ensuring seamless guest interactions across diverse linguistic backgrounds.
