Waldorf Astoria DIFC announced that Luigi Vespero has been promoted to director of F&B and culinary at the hotel. Previously he was the hotel’s executive chef, notably bringing Bull & Bear to the forefront of Dubai gastronomy during that time for almost 3 years.
He always wanted to be a chef! Leader by nature, he has always strived to be a role model to the young chefs. Exceptionally successful in leading cross-functional teams to meet and exceed corporate and owner expectations.
As he steps into his new role, Vespero said: “After 25 years of experience in the culinary field, I am excited to take on an exciting challenge that will take me out of my comfort zone. My genuine passion and dedication for the hospitality industry is a never-ending love story.
“This is why, when the opportunity of director of F&B and culinary came up, I knew it was made for me; especially knowing that I have the utmost support from my wonderful team and my mentor, Victor Chalfoun, general manager, here at The Waldorf Astoria DIFC. Even though I am now in this new role, rest assured that my chef’s spirit will forever remain on point.”
GM Chalfoun added: “Luigi has been instrumental in his role as executive chef in charge of the culinary division and in his new role he will be leading both the food and beverage and culinary teams. I wish Luigi continued success in his new role.”
