Tatjana Ahmed, Director of Housekeeping, Grand Hyatt Dubai – Women Leadership in Hospitality Series – Episode 8

Tatjana embarked on her career in 1983 with a 3-year apprenticeship in hotel management in Germany. Her journey in housekeeping in the Middle East began in 1989, and in 2001, she joined the Hyatt Hotel team in Dubai.

With extensive experience and a deep passion for her work, Tatjana has become a functional specialist in Housekeeping for Hyatt Hotels. She conducts Management Operation Reviews of the Rooms Division Departments and assists sister hotels in the pre-opening phase, ensuring the implementation of Hyatt standards in the housekeeping department.

Within the hotel, Tatjana actively contributes to various committees, including the diversity and inclusion committee, the hotel’s sustainability committee, and the Sahari Housing committee. She is also a dedicated member of Woman @ Hyatt.

Beyond her hotel responsibilities, Tatjana serves as the chairwoman of the UAE Professional Housekeepers Group and is a member of the Asian Housekeepers Association. She writes a monthly column for the Clean Middle East Magazine and plays a significant role in organizing and judging the Housekeepers League of Champions during The Hotel Show. Additionally, she serves as the MC of the Housekeepers summit during the Hotel Show.

Tatjana’s commitment to the housekeeping fraternity has been recognized, earning her the 21st position on the list of Top 25 Women in Hospitality ME in 2019 and the 4th position in 2020. Furthermore, she has been honored as the Housekeeper of the Year by the Hotelier Middle East Magazine in 2008, 2010, 2019, and 2021.

In 2023, Tatjana received the “Industry Personality” recognition from the MECHF Awards, highlighting her ongoing impact in the hospitality industry.
