Taras Ettl has joined Cheval Collection’s development team as the company embarks on its global expansion initiatives. With a wealth of experience in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, Ettl’s appointment aligns seamlessly with Cheval Collection’s strategic plans for expansion in the MENA region.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Ettl stated, “I am thrilled to be part of Cheval Collection as serviced apartments gain prominence in the hospitality sector. There is substantial potential for growth in the luxury and lifestyle segments, with both guests and property owners seeking a high-end experience that allows them to live with the same freedom as they do in their homes.”
Ettl brings an extensive background, including nearly a decade in acquisitions and development at Kingdom Hotel Investments, a senior development role overseeing the Middle East & Africa at IHG, and serving as the regional head of operations at Deutsche Hospitality in Dubai.
His expertise spans various aspects of development, ranging from greenfield construction to management agreements, leases, franchises, and mergers and acquisitions.
Daniel Johansson, the Director of Development & Acquisitions at Cheval Collection, expressed excitement about heading into 2024 with a growing development team and emphasized the addition of Taras’s knowledge to their more than 40 years of experience in the sector.
Johansson stated, “We are witnessing a rising demand for luxury serviced apartments globally, with the model gaining traction among guests and investors who appreciate the allure of flexible stays combined with agile operations.”
Mohammed S. Alawadhi, Managing Director at Cheval Collection, added, “The global growth of Cheval Collection is a testament to our reputation, attracting talent of Taras’s caliber. Results in Dubai are already exceeding expectations, and we are in discussions to incorporate additional properties in the region under the management model, ensuring alignment with owners.”
