JW MARRIOTT KOLKATA BRINGS THE CONCEPT OF SOUTHERN THAI CUISINE, PHULAY BAY, TO KOLKATA

Kolkata – For the first time in the ‘City of Joy’, JW Marriott Kolkata is all set to showcase the quintessential flavours of Southern Thai Culinary from Phulay Bay, Ritz Carlton Reserve – Krabi Thailand. As the world’s first Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Phulay Bay embodies the attributes, philosophy, unique style and design of the Reserve brands pioneer. The collaboration brings Chef Laongdao Tohkhot also known as Chef Aong, a highly experienced Thai Sous Chef of Phulay Bay, a Ritz Carlton Reserve – Krabi Thailand. Known for curating distinctive cuisines of Southern Thailand for over two decades,she has also played an important role in showcasing the original cuisine of her homeland to international audiences, both at Phulay Bay and overseas events in China and India.

Launched on December 2019 ,Phulay Bay has already grown to be one of the world’s first Ritz Carlton Reserve Property which boasts of nominations and awards across categories, including, Top 10 Resorts in Thailand from Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2021, “Top 10 Wellness Travel Award ” to The Spa at Phulay Bay from Organic Spa Wellness Awards 2021“Top 11 Hotels Thailand” from  TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards 2021,”Top 20  Luxury Resorts in Thailand” from Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020 and so on.

While in Kolkata, Chef Aong will be preparing her signature dishes by combining local and seasonal ingredients from Southern Thailand, including a natural abundance of herbs, fresh coconuts fragrant spices and simple yet robust recipes for the food connoisseurs. The guests would be offered these cuisines at three exclusively hosted meals on 4th (Dinner), 5th (Dinner) and 6th of November (Lunch and Dinner) at the JW Marriott Hotel Kolkata.
