Carlton City Hotel Singapore has announced the return of Douglas Glen as its new General Manager, marking a homecoming for a seasoned leader who previously guided the property through the challenging pandemic years.
Glen is fondly remembered for his exceptional leadership, calm resilience, and unwavering commitment during that period. Since his earlier tenure, he has broadened his international portfolio, holding senior leadership positions with several prestigious hospitality groups. His return signifies an exciting new chapter for the hotel as it continues to uphold its reputation for service excellence and innovation.
Reflecting on his appointment, Glen shared:

In his new role, Glen will oversee all operational and financial aspects of the 386-key upscale business hotel, driving strategic growth while maintaining the hallmark standards of hospitality excellence for which the property is known.
With over three decades of distinguished experience in global hospitality, Glen has held senior roles with renowned properties including The Regent Hotel Group in Hua Hin, The Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, The Steigenberger Riverside Bangkok, The Landmark Bangkok, and The Landmark London.
Born and raised in Scotland, Glen began his hospitality journey in London after completing his Hotel and Catering studies. His career includes stints at iconic establishments such as Grosvenor House, The Royal Lancaster, The Hyatt Carlton Tower, and The London Hilton on Park Lane. At The Landmark London, he rose through the ranks to become Hotel Manager before assuming the General Manager role at The Landmark Bangkok, where he played a key role in expanding the hotel’s profitability and brand influence.
With his extensive global experience and deep familiarity with Carlton City Hotel Singapore’s culture and team, Glen is well-positioned to lead the property to greater success in the years ahead.
