JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort has announced the appointment of Ahmed Adam as the resort’s new Director of Human Resources. With over 17 years of experience in the Maldivian hospitality sector, Ahmed brings extensive industry knowledge, a deep understanding of local talent dynamics, and a leadership style grounded in empowerment and people-first values.
Ahmed joins the resort from JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, where he began his journey with Marriott International in 2019 as Assistant Director of Human Resources before advancing to Director of Human Resources. His hospitality career began in 2007 in the housekeeping department, marking the start of an inspiring journey characterized by dedication, growth, and continuous learning.
Over the years, Ahmed has held key leadership roles across several leading resorts in the Maldives, building a reputation for fostering positive workplace cultures, championing associate development, and driving organizational excellence.
Reflecting on his journey, Ahmed Adam shared:
“The most meaningful milestone has been contributing 17 years to the Maldivian hospitality industry, during which I have had the privilege to coach, develop, and train countless talented individuals who now play vital roles in shaping our country’s tourism. In his new role, Ahmed will lead the resort’s human resources strategy, focusing on talent development, associate well-being, and fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and empowerment. His democratic and coaching-driven leadership will play a key role in enhancing engagement and alignment across departments.
