JW Marriott Kolkata Welcomes Russel Issac as Director of Food & Beverage

JW Marriott Kolkata is delighted to announce the appointment of Russel Issac as the new Director of Food & Beverage. Bringing over a decade of rich and diverse experience across some of the most iconic hotels and luxury resorts both in India and internationally, Russel joins the team with an impressive track record of elevating guest experiences through strategic leadership and innovative culinary management.

Russel is a proud alumnus of Rizvi College of Hotel Management, Mumbai, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Hotel Administration. His career commenced at Courtyard by Marriott, Mumbai, where he joined as an Industrial Trainee, laying a strong foundation in hospitality operations. Over the years, he has sharpened his expertise with renowned hospitality brands including Lemon Tree Hotels, The Oberoi Group, JW Marriott Mumbai, and the Taj Group of Hotels. Throughout his career, Russel has progressed steadily into leadership roles that highlight his ability to innovate, motivate teams, and consistently exceed guest expectations.

Prior to his new role in Kolkata, Russel served as Associate Director of Food & Beverage at Taj Coromandel, Chennai, where he was instrumental in streamlining F&B operations across multiple outlets, driving operational efficiencies, and cultivating a culture of service excellence. His leadership was key in enhancing the overall dining experience while mentoring and empowering his teams to deliver personalized, memorable hospitality.

Russel’s previous tenure included managing Shamiana and Aquarius at the legendary Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, Mumbai, where he played a vital role in curating unique dining experiences that blended global food trends with local flavors. His international exposure was further broadened during his time at Taj Exotica, Maldives, where he gained invaluable insights into luxury dining and bespoke guest service, enriching his holistic approach to Food & Beverage management.
