The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the opening of Hari Ganga Niwas – IHCL SeleQtions in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Located on the banks of the Ganges, this is the second SeleQtions hotel in the city after Pilibhit House.
According to Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO of IHCL, Hari Ganga Niwas expands IHCL’s presence in Uttarakhand and reflects its focus on heritage-led hospitality. The 15-key heritage retreat is the sixth collaboration with the Prasad Group and adds to IHCL’s portfolio in India’s spiritual travel circuit.

Situated near Haridwar’s riverside market, Hari Ganga Niwas – IHCL SeleQtions, built in 1913, offers river-facing rooms. It’s a vegetarian restaurant, Ghar Se, that serves locally inspired dishes. The retreat features guided heritage walks, curated culinary experiences, and private access to the evening Ganga Aarti at its ghat.
Mr. Vibhas Prasad, Promoter, Prasad Heritage Group, stated that the property builds on their partnership with IHCL to create a retreat that reflects Haridwar’s heritage.
With this addition, IHCL now has 34 hotels in Uttarakhand, including 21 that are currently under development.
