Tamil Nadu is set to host the much-anticipated second edition of its Travel Expo, a premier professional event for the tourism industry. Scheduled from September 26–28, 2025, at the IDA Scudder Auditorium in Madurai, the expo promises to be a landmark occasion, bringing together stakeholders from across the state and the globe.
Organized collaboratively by Travel Club Madurai, the South India Hotels and Restaurants’ Association (SIHRA), and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the event enjoys robust support from the Tamil Nadu Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The expo will feature 200 exhibitors spanning Tamil Nadu’s tourism spectrum, including hoteliers, hospitals, wellness centers, and allied services. Organizers are expecting around 300 international buyers from countries such as Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and South Africa, who will engage in curated B2B meetings designed to facilitate meaningful business connections. A highlight of the event will be a special Awards Night, recognizing outstanding contributions to Tamil Nadu’s tourism sector.
A key focus of this year’s edition is to spotlight high-potential segments such as Wedding Tourism and Medical Value Tourism. By bridging local industry players with international buyers, the expo aims to expand market reach, foster partnerships, and unlock new opportunities for Tamil Nadu’s tourism landscape.
“Tamil Nadu Tourism is vibrant and dynamic, committed to showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and diverse attractions. Through initiatives like this expo, we aim to enhance the travel experience for both domestic and international visitors,” said a spokesperson from the Tourism Department. Managed under the Secretariat and spearheaded by the Commissionerate of Tourism, the department continues to formulate policies and programs that strengthen Tamil Nadu’s standing as a premier travel destination.
