Yousuf Al Rahbi Appointed General Manager at Crowne Plaza Duqm

Crowne Plaza Duqm, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of Yousuf Al Rahbi as its new General Manager, marking a historic milestone as the first Omani to assume this leadership position within IHG in the Sultanate.

Al Rahbi’s career with IHG spans more than a decade of progressive growth and achievement. He began his journey in 2015 as Director of Human Resources at InterContinental Muscat, later rising to become Area Director of HR for Oman, where he successfully led people strategies across multiple properties. Demonstrating a strong commitment to operational excellence, he transitioned into the role of Hotel Manager at InterContinental Muscat, where he sharpened his leadership skills and operational expertise. Earlier this year, he was seconded to Crowne Plaza Duqm as part of a task force, a role that further highlighted his ability to drive results and lead diverse teams.

A graduate of IHG’s prestigious “Journey to General Manager” programme, Al Rahbi is also an alumnus of Omran Group’s Lift Program, which nurtures and empowers Omani talent for senior positions in the hospitality sector. His success story reflects the growing emphasis on building national leadership pipelines within Oman’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Commenting on his appointment, Al Rahbi expressed pride in the opportunity to take charge of Crowne Plaza Duqm, highlighting his commitment to enhancing guest experiences while driving operational excellence. Rajesh Chauhan, Head of HR for India, the Middle East and Africa at IHG, described the appointment as a landmark achievement, reaffirming IHG’s strategy of developing and empowering local talent to lead its properties across the region.
