Sarovar Hotels has announced the promotion of Ankush Sharma to Director of Development, recognizing his extensive 22-year career in the hospitality industry. Sharma brings a comprehensive background encompassing Operations Management, Sales & Marketing, E-Commerce, and Project Management to his new role.
Sharma’s career has been marked by significant achievements, including the successful launch of Ramee Rose Hotel in Bahrain, where he managed operations that spanned 108 rooms, 8 F&B outlets, and a spa. Under his leadership, the hotel achieved high standards and was recognized for guest satisfaction on platforms like Booking.com in 2015 and 2016. The property’s Chinese specialty restaurant and all-day dining were also nominated for awards at the Bahrain Citi Fact Awards.
His previous roles at Sarovar Hotels culminated in a nomination for Best General Manager of the year 2018-19, a testament to his leadership and innovative approach to hospitality management. Sharma’s expertise in starting new operations has seen him create successful restaurant concepts and open hotels and spas both in India and internationally.
Prior to his new appointment at Sarovar Hotels, Sharma held positions at InterContinental Hotels Group and Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris, where he developed his skills in guest services and front office management.
Sharma holds an MBA in Marketing and HR from Amity University and a Bachelor in Hotel Management from Bangalore University. His skills in revenue management, online marketing, and relationship building have consistently contributed to his professional success and his ability to meet financial targets even during challenging economic times.
In his new role, Sharma is expected to drive further growth and innovation across Sarovar Hotels, leveraging his deep industry knowledge and commitment to excellence in hospitality.
