THE NAZIR HOOSEIN MEMORIAL DRIVE FLAGGED OFF FROM WELCOMHOTEL BY ITC HOTELS, THE SAVOY, MUSSOORIE

With a regal history spanning over a century, Welcomhotel The Savoy Mussoorie had the distinction of hosting extraordinary events. The Himalayan Car Rally was flagged off from Welcomhotel The Savoy Mussoorie for many years and this time again the Nazir Hoosein Memorial Drive retraced the course of the 1981 Himalayan Rally.

Mr. Andrew Saldanha Area Manager, Welcomhotels – North stated, “The Welcomhotel Brand by ITC Hotels aims to offer guests’ enriching experiences inspired by the destination. Welcomhotel The Savoy Mussoorie with it’s rich heritage is a one of a kind in it’s offerings and one of the finest in the entire region. We are honoured to welcome the remarkable turnout of Himalayan Rally ex-members, volunteers and dignitaries.”

Swirled in the mist of time and set against a splendid backdrop of the Garhwal Himalayan range, Welcomhotel The Savoy Mussoorie is built in the style of English Gothic architecture and stalwarts from many fields have stayed at this historic hotel.

For NHMD, 100 cars kicked off from Greater Noida on the morning of 8th November. The first stop was Lansdowne (8th November), followed by Mussoorie (9th November) and Kufri (10th November). On the 11th November, drivers will tackle the iconic route of the original rally — the Jalori Pass before halting in Manali. The final day will see participants cross over the Rohtang pass before concluding the drive in Manali.
