Hailing from Kandy, Sri Lanka, Upul brings a decade-long expertise in Destination Management, marked by a passion for responsible tourism and a comprehensive understanding of sustainable practices.
Upul’s role encompasses overseeing and implementing sustainable initiatives across Sun Siyam Resorts, collaborating with resort-based committees, marine biologists, and PR teams. His responsibilities include identifying areas for enhancement, monitoring progress, and developing training programs. His expertise, certified in ISO14001 and ISO45000 standards, aligns seamlessly with the group’s Sun Siyam Cares program, emphasizing energy reduction, waste management, and community development.
