Think monsoon and several munchies come to mind. It’s certainly a cliché but few joys can match up to the experience of enjoying the pitter-patter of rain, a freshly brewed cup of coffee or masala chai and some piping-hot snacks. The unbridled pleasure of catching up with friends or for a quick meeting while relishing some snacks can be one of the best of the season.
Monsoon adda at the Lobby is a casual and fun set up where food is sold from carts on patar plates and the lobby is turned into a complete adda with tables, small benches, music and newspapers for guests to experience the local streets.
The rains are a good reason to soak in the beauty of nature while indulging your taste buds and our executive chef, Ishika Konar puts across her experience of local street food at the Monsoon Adda@the Lobby. For her this is fun, food, music and nostalgia. Each and every street food has flavour and memories. She expresses how Waterside Cafe has a Golocal studio serving street food from across the world but monsoon adda has those selected her favourite few.
We all love our refined cuisines and elaborate meals, but our love for street food quests around the world. It’s the nostalgia of the college days’ roadside food, reliving different memories or exploring the place in the most actual form. Street food is the most profound understanding of any culture and history. Monsoons in the city of joy is more of a celebration and food being an integral part of it. We look forward to guests experiencing and indulging at the Adda, said Kumar Shobhan.
