InterContinental Muscat is again thinking pink for a purpose of creating awareness on Breast Cancer.
To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the iconic property has partnered with Oman Cancer Association to raise funds by donating OMR 1 for every cake sold at Tr.Eat Cafe throughout the month. Colleagues have also raised money by selling pins and holding a garage sale.
“We are delighted and proud to partner with Oman Cancer Association to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness,” said Anna-Marie Dowling, Area General Manager, IHG Oman. “With this campaign, we aim to increase awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for research and honor those who have fought against it. We hope that our contributions play a role in spreading awareness which could help towards early detection.”
Dr. Rajyashree from the Oman Cancer Association conducted a seminar at the hotel where she shared her knowledge on breast cancer awareness, importance of early detection and reminded everybody that, maintaining a healthy lifestyle could help prevent the disease.
InterContinental Muscat, as part of the CSR initiative, conducts a variety of activities to be prevalently involved in the community of the Sultanate. The Hotel’s core corporate social responsibility values reflect through such initiatives.
The proceeds of the campaign were handed over to Oman Cancer Association by the Area General Manager of IHG Oman, Anna-Marie Dowling and the Director of Human Resources, Basim Al Hasani during an event organized at the hotel.
