Mondrian Doha Appoints Kemal Bayik as General Manager

Mondrian Doha is delighted to announce the appointment of Kemal Bayik as its new General Manager. With more than 20 years of global experience in luxury and lifestyle hospitality, Bayik brings an impressive track record across some of the industry’s most iconic brands and landmark properties.

Bayik’s career has spanned leadership roles with Four Seasons, Raffles, Six Senses, W Hotels, LXR, and Kempinski, across destinations including Baku, Istanbul, Bodrum, and Doha. Throughout his journey, he has successfully spearheaded repositioning initiatives, post-renovation strategies, property openings, and consistently delivered strong STR market performances.

Most recently, as General Manager in Bodrum, Bayik’s leadership saw the LXR achieve Forbes Four-Star ratings in both 2024 and 2025, earn listings in the Michelin Guide and Gault & Millau, and rise in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, climbing from 23rd place in 2023 to 14th in 2024 across Europe.

His return to Doha is especially significant — not only as the city where he previously drove transformative strategies, but also as a destination with deep personal meaning for him and his family. Bayik has long admired Doha’s bold vision and international outlook, making his appointment a natural continuation of his journey within the city’s dynamic luxury landscape.

A graduate of Bilkent University with a BA in Hospitality Management and holding an MBA in International Business from Lynn University, USA, Bayik is recognised for his dynamic leadership, team-focused approach, and creative problem-solving skills.

Commenting on his new role, Kemal Bayik said:
“Doha is a city I know and admire deeply. Leading Mondrian Doha is an exciting opportunity to merge bold design, vibrant culture, and a guest-centric vision that redefines lifestyle luxury in the region. Together with my team, I look forward to creating standout experiences that resonate with both our local community and international guests.”

Bayik’s appointment marks a new chapter for Mondrian Doha, reinforcing its position as one of Qatar’s most distinctive luxury lifestyle destinations.
