W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island has named Ajai Nair as cluster director of finance for both W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island and Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Centre, Abu Dhabi. With over a decade of experience across leading hospitality brands, Nair brings proven expertise in financial leadership, operational strategy, and team development.
In his new role, he will oversee finance functions across the two properties, driving performance excellence in line with Marriott International’s regional strategy.
Nair joins from W Dubai – The Palm, where since 2022 he has led finance operations for the hotel and residences, overseeing accounting, payroll, and procurement. Previously, he was cluster director of finance for Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Aloft Palm Jumeirah, where he successfully navigated both properties through the COVID-19 pandemic with strong cash management strategies that ensured profitability in 2020.
Earlier in his career, he served as deputy director of finance at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, his first posting in the capital, after starting as a management trainee in India. A commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, Nair is also a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
