The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah hires Robert Sahyouni as new DOSM
The Chedi Al Bait in Sharjah has hired a new director of sales and marketing, expected to increase the hotel’s reputation as a top luxury destination in the Middle East.
Robert Sahyouni joins from the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort and Spa, operated by Marriott International, where he was the director of sales and marketing also. In total he brings 17 years of experience to the role.
A Lebanese national but born in the UAE, he started out in 2004 with Marriott and “kept his relentless passion for hospitality ever since,” gleamed The Chedi in a statement. He has also worked with Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas as an area director of sales. Here he led day-to-day sales across five properties in the UAE.
Sahyouni said: “Opportunities don’t just happen – you create them. I’m proud to have become part of an establishment that fosters diversity, growth and hard work. It’s everything I stand for and I’m looking forward to bringing my contribution to the hotel in our continued rise to the top.”

Previously known as Al Bait Sharjah, the property came under General Hotel Management’s (GHM) in early 2020. The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah was designed to showcase the history and culture of the emirate of Sharjah. Beyond its guest accommodation, the property houses a museum and library that archive the history of Sharjah.
Prior to its opening, the boutique property was projected to have an AED200 million (US$55 million) value.
