Vineet Mishra, the newly appointed Complex General Manager, Pullman and Novotel Aerocity is from Delhi who has worked across India and been in charge of some iconic properties—his last charge was India’s second Ritz Carlton in Pune. Mishra began his career with the Oberoi Hotels, before moving to Marriott and now Accor.
With more than 20+ years of experience in the hospitality industry, Vineet Mishra is a post graduate in Hotel Management from The Oberoi Centre of Learning & Development, Delhi. Vineet has adorned several capacities with the Oberoi Group including the Executive Assistant Manager, Oberoi New Delhi and The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata.
He started his career with Marriott International in the year 2010.Vineet was the General Manager at the Kochi Marriott Hotel. He has also worked with the Courtyard Marriott, Pune City Centre, JW Marriott Pune as the General Manager and JW Marriott Mumbai, Juhu as the Director of Operations.
“Accor is a well-known player in India, very well reputed and they are very aggressively looking at the future. Even as we speak, they are wanting to make changes in their positioning and re-establishing themselves. Having been in the ibis space as well as Novotel as a brand, it is now starting to look at luxury in a different manner—specifically with bands, like, Raffles and Fairmont under their belt,” Said Vineet Mishra in his exclusive interview with ETHospitalityWorld.
Mishra was keen to bring his learnings and experiments which he had done while heading a cluster of hotels in Pune under Marriott to the unique market that was New Delhi Aerocity.
While moving up the ladder, he has played diverse roles in different departments including Sales, Food & Beverage, Front Office and Rooms Division. A passionate hotelier from Delhi, Vineet is also a voracious reader, loves fitness and is an ardent traveller.
“I'm actually using this opportunity to really understand what's the dream, rather than just coming in and saying that this is what has been done. This pause is actually helping me understand what actually happened in the past. It's also helping me in making it a slightly fresher slate than what the team has worked on previously. Because everyone literally will start from ground zero. It all depends on what you have learnt over the past year-and-a-half. How are you actually shifting gears and making yourself far more viable and truer to the brand,” Mishra said about the current period of lockdown in the capital.
