Sofitel Dubai The Palm appoints new hires in culinary and events
Kevin Fleming joins as executive tchef, Antonio Ostuni as F&B director and Noreen Rocque as assistant director of eventsFive-star resort Sofitel Dubai The Palm has announced a trio of new hires as it looks to grow its F&B, and events offerings.
Irishman Kevin Fleming has been named the new executive chef, where he will oversee all restaurants, including Porterhouse Steaks & Grills, Manava, Moana, The World Eatery, Maui, Zoya by Maui and Olivier’s. As executive chef, he will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s culinary division, including its roadmap for the future.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining such a prestigious hotel that is Sofitel Dubai The Palm. We have all seen ourselves through a hard previous year so now it is time to celebrate the amazing offerings that this hotel has, bringing life back to the F&B scene we have all missed” said Fleming.
His previous positions include executive sous chef at Atlantis The Palm and a range of chef de cuisine roles across the emirate’s Jumeirah Group.
Working closely with him will be the new F&B director Antonio Ostuni. Ostuni will be entrusted with deploying plans that continue the hotel’s gastronomic success and elevate the reputation of all of its restaurants. Working with Fleming and the hotel’s GM, Ostuni will work to create new ways to push the restaurants to both the regional and international market.
Finally is Noreen Rocque as the new assistant director of events, working to inject “new enegery and ideas” into the hotel as it recovers its MICE segment following the pandemic.
Rocque also has a history at Atlantis, previously acting as director of business development for the iconic resort. She was with the hotel for over a decade, also holding positions of manager of events sales & services, and director of events sales & services during her time there.
