The JW Marriott in Juhu, with its rooms and suites overlooking the Arabian Sea as well as multiple restaurants, almost has a resort feel to it. ETHospitalityWorld spoke with Nikita Ramchandani, the general manager of the hotel about the Mumbai market and her property.

“The JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu is a multi-generational, luxury hotel in the urban city of Mumbai, offering experiences for leisure as well as business travellers. With the location advantage we possess, our guests can enjoy a resort-like experience with picturesque sea views whilst being in the midst of a bustling city,” Ramchandani said about her hotel.

With the situation in Maharashtra and Mumbai deteriorating as far as the numbers of Covid cases are concerned, Ramchandani said that they were majorly focusing on Marriott on Wheels, the food and beverage home delivery initiative—under which, they offered themed brunch menus, festive menus and celebration hampers which guests could enjoy in the comfort of their homes.

“We have also identified experiences such as private in-suite dining and outdoor dining at our Monsoon Deck, alongside introducing lucrative staycation packages for the domestic guest. All things considered, the safety and well-being of our associates is our top priority, for which we have established stringent measures under Marriott International’s “Commitment to Clean” initiative,” she added.

Ramchandani remained optimistic about domestic travel and staycations in the next few months. A lot of people were opting for a luxurious home-away-from-home vacation in their own city and were looking for all-inclusive packages, outdoor dining, engaging family activities and a rejuvenating experience overall.

“A certain nostalgia surrounding international travel has set in and people are now seeking those exceptional experiences within their own city/country, and being an urban resort oasis we are able to curate such experiences,” she said.

The hotel boasted of 14 venues including unique indoor-outdoor spaces, some designed for weddings and social events, others for inspired business events. The hotel was also renowned for hosting glamorous events in the film and fashion industry, she added.
