24 January 2023<\/strong>, New Delhi<\/strong>.<\/strong> At a press conference held at the UP Sadan in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department along with its Eco Tourism division announced the 7th<\/sup> edition of the UP Nature and Bird Festival<\/a><\/strong>, set to be held at the Vijaysagar Bird Sanctuary in Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh. Located in the Bundelkhand region, the Festival will witness an audience of national and international experts in the fields of birding, nature conservation, and wildlife tourism and photography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the press conference chaired by\u00a0Ms\u00a0Mamta Sanjeev Dubey<\/strong>, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of Forest Force (PCCF & HOFF)\u00a0UP\u00a0&\u00a0Shri Sunil Chaudhary<\/strong>, Additional Principal Chief Conservator Forest (APCCF) Wildlife Project Tiger & Nodal Officer UP EcoTourism, and\u00a0Shri S N Mishra<\/strong>, Chief Conservator\u00a0Wildlife Western and\u00a0the team, outlined the Festival schedule.\u00a0Beginning with\u00a0an opening ceremony\u00a0on 1st<\/sup>\u00a0February, the Festival will include\u00a0field excursions,\u00a0dedicated panel sessions, photo exhibits, book launches\u00a0and relevant partnership announcements.\u00a0Opening its doors for building awareness\u00a0among\u00a0the youth towards conservation and appreciation for nature\u00a0and wildlife, the\u00a0event\u00a0will also see an inflow of students from educational institutions in the\u00a0surrounding areas.\u00a0Re-affirming\u00a0the prestigious partnerships with British Bird Fair and Bird\u00a0Life International, the main focus-area of the\u00a0festival’s\u00a07th<\/sup>\u00a0edition is ‘Ecotourism for nature conservation\u00a0<\/em>‘<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously known as the UP Bird Fair, a well-attended annual birding event, this year the UP Forest Department has expanded the showcase to include the pristine natural heritage of the region in addition to focusing on the incredible sightings of the avian species. The UP <\/strong>Nature<\/strong> and <\/strong>Bird<\/strong> Festival<\/strong> 2023<\/strong> aims to inspire and accelerate nature-based ecotourism and appreciation of biodiverse-rich wildlife reserves and sanctuaries of Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heading this initiative, M<\/strong>s<\/strong> Mamta Sanjeev Dubey, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of Forest Force<\/strong> UP<\/strong> adds, “Over the past few years, the UP Forest Department along with UP Tourism have created some beautiful circuits across the state’s forests, its rich plethora of historical sites, ancient cities, landmarks and natural beauty, offering responsible nature and culture-based experiences for tourists. We believe that a holistic and collaborative approach to nature-based ecotourism and cultural tourism is essential for sustainable progress as they are both undeniably co-dependent. While efforts have been ongoing to promote these circuits, we are now taking more active measures to develop an awareness of these possibilities to the world of travelers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
