The great grandson of&nbsp;<strong>Nawab Wajid Ali Shah<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Shahanshah Mirza<\/strong>&nbsp;in collaboration with&nbsp;<strong>The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat,&nbsp;<\/strong>has thoughtfully curated a series of soiree and Awadhi cuisine on the&nbsp;<strong>8th of January 2023<\/strong>&nbsp;to celebrate the&nbsp;<strong>200th birth anniversary of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the only occasion in the world where\u00a0<strong>Shaam-e-Awadh<\/strong>\u00a0is being organised in honour of\u00a0<strong>Wajid Ali Shah&#8217;s 200th birth anniversary.<\/strong>\u00a0The grandeur celebration commences with a series of live performances where guests can immerse in the diverse Urdu culture. The evening starts with a graceful Kathak performance by\u00a0<strong>Nandini Sinha<\/strong>, an eminent Lucknowi Gharana style Kathak exponent. The elegant Kathak performance is followed by\u00a0<strong>Mehfil-e-Tarannum,\u00a0<\/strong>also known as\u00a0<strong>Dastangoi,\u00a0<\/strong>a soulful poetry performance directed by\u00a0<strong>Askari Naqvi.<\/strong>\u00a0Adding to the celebration,\u00a0<strong>Atif Ali Khan,<\/strong>\u00a0the great grandson of the doyen of Indian Classical music,\u00a0<strong>Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan<\/strong>, singer of<strong>\u00a0Kasur Gharana,\u00a0<\/strong>will enchant the audiences with his nostalgic Ghazal and Hindustani classical performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1428\" src=\"https:\/\/hoteliersweb.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Atif-Ali-Khan-1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8832\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoteliersweb.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Atif-Ali-Khan-1-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/hoteliersweb.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Atif-Ali-Khan-1-768x428.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hoteliersweb.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Atif-Ali-Khan-1-1536x857.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 960px) 75vw, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To mark the birth anniversary celebration,&nbsp;<strong>Awadhi Begum Sheeba Iqbal<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Chef Shafiqun&nbsp;<\/strong>along with the talented culinary team of The&nbsp;<strong>Westin Kolkata Rajarhat<\/strong>&nbsp;will showcase the ambrosial spread of Awadhi cuisine with dishes include non-vegetarian classics like<strong><em>&nbsp;&#8216;Kakori Kebab&#8217; and &#8216;Mutton Nihari&#8217;<\/em><\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong><em>&#8216;Seekh kebabs&#8217;, &#8216;Ghutwan kabab&#8217;,&nbsp; &#8216;Yakhni Pulao&#8217;,&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>and vegetarian classic such as<strong><em>&nbsp;&#8216;Ulte Pulte&#8217;, &#8216;Sagpaita with Ghee Chawal&#8217; &#8216;Qiwami Seewai&#8217;, &#8216;Tali gobhi ka salaan&#8217;<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;to name a few. Through the skills of&nbsp;<strong>Chef Sheeba Iqbal<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Chef Shafiqun<\/strong>, the food festival will offer delicacies of not just Awadhi cuisine but also of the remnants of the Awadhi food of the royals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the event,&nbsp;<strong>Mr. Subhash Sinha, General Manager&nbsp;<\/strong>of<strong>&nbsp;The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat<\/strong>&nbsp;said,&nbsp;<em>&#8220;We are honoured to celebrate the 200th Birth Anniversary of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh with his great grandson Shahanshah Mirza.
