Kolkata, 19th November 2022: <\/strong>Christmas is incomplete without the traditional Christmas cake which is said to be a long-standing ceremonial practice that dates back to Biblical times and also was historically honored in the massive family get-togethers. Like every year JW Marriott Kolkata <\/strong>performed an annual geniality routine on 19th<\/sup> November<\/strong>, in which the hotel celebrated the traditional cake mixing ceremony with city enthusiasts, loyal patrons, in-house members and associates as one unit making it a grand affair<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The customary cake mixing festival begins a month prior to Christmas and it is believed to be the harbinger of celebration and happiness. Much before the cake is baked, it is the energy and enthusiasm of blending various ingredients that ushers in the Yuletide cheer. An assortment of fruits and nuts are accumulated during this time and used to bake the scrumptious and traditional plum cake. All ingredients like spirits, dry fruits, cherries, dates, spices are thoroughly assimilated and infused in spirits such as brandy, rum and wine to mature prior to the actual baking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening witnessed the connoisseurs and popular faces of the city donning the apron, cap and gloves, coming together to tackle the colorful mounds of dry fruits, nuts and other concoctions to herald in the lively joyous Christmas season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this usher evening of joy and festive cheer, Mr. Sumeet Suri, General Manager, JW Marriott Kolkata said<\/em><\/strong>, “In the recent times, the City of Joy has been witnessing the nearing of Christmas with the cake mixing ritual. To mark this occasion, the hotel organized the centuries-old-tradition of cake mixing to spread the warmth of the festive season. It was an evening filled with laughter, fun and happiness with our esteemed patrons and our in- house team.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
