15th July 2022,India\/Maldives: International Women’s Dive Day, which is on 16th<\/sup> July this year has grown into the most celebrated day of diving dedicated to women divers around the world.  Kandima Maldives<\/a>, as the most game-changing lifestyle resort in the destination, aims to encourage more and more women to dive and explore underwater experiences. This International Women’s Dive Day, Kandima hosts the record-holding female free diver, May Leethanachai<\/a>, for an ultra-kool 2- day workshop and fun dive sessions for our guests at the resort’s state-of-the-art water sports and dive centre Aquaholics<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May’s journey is not only inspiring, but she has proved to be a leader paving the way for other women divers from across the world. She is not only a certified PADI instructor and a member of FMCG for the past 11 years, but also a freediving record holder! Having been awarded by the AIDA Apnea Association of Singapore Depth Competition Bali 2019 and the AIDA Sabang International Freediving competition in 2019, May is a trendsetter in the women’s freediving category. She is currently ranked second for the deepest women divers in Thailand. One of her challenges which she turned into a feat, is the ability to dive 52m deep in open water and 115m in confined waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her visit at Kandima Maldives<\/a> May Leethanachai<\/a> will share her inspiring journey, conduct confined water sessions for curious dive newbies with an exclusive women’s only session on the 16th<\/sup> July<\/strong> and do an open water and freediving session for more advanced divers. The sessions will be chargeable at a minimal fee of USD 50 (inclusive of all taxes) per person per session and are open for anyone aged 16 years and above. All guests, especially our women guests, are invited to explore the oh-so magical underwater kingdom teeming with marine life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
