After a successful tenure of spearheading the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL<\/u><\/strong>) in Goa as the Area Director since 2017, Mr. Vincent Ramos, son of the soil has been elevated to Senior Vice President \u2013 Goa. In his new role, Mr. Ramos will continue to provide strategic direction to IHCL<\/u><\/strong> hotels within the Goa region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A perfectionist with over a decade of management experience, Mr. Ramos has been instrumental in the expansion of IHCL <\/u><\/strong>across the state, comprising of a group of brands – Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta , Ginger, am\u00e3 Stays & Trails, Qmin, and TajSats. Some of the iconic properties in the IHCL<\/u><\/strong>, Goa portfolio include Taj Resort & Convention Centre, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa, Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa and Cidade de Goa – IHCL SeleQtions.  Under the governance of Mr. Ramos, IHCL<\/u><\/strong>, Goa witnessed transformative growth leading to greater profitability and market leadership in each of the relative market segments. With a footprint of 21 unique destinations and over 1500 rooms across a wide spectrum of brands, IHCL<\/u><\/strong> continues to define the changing landscape of tourism in Goa as the largest hospitality operator and leaders in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amidst the challenging business circumstances posed by the pandemic, Mr. Ramos demonstrated exceptional leadership in effectively positioning IHCL\u2019s <\/u><\/strong>various brands in Goa. Additionally, various initiatives were carried out under his guidance in aid of those who were deeply affected across the state and in support of the healthcare workers, migrant labourers and Covid Care Centres during these unprecedented times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has not only effectively represented IHCL <\/u><\/strong>but has also been the voice of the industry as a whole, within the geography. The optimization of costs and enhancement in revenue in Goa over the past two years is testimony to Mr. Ramos\u2019s drive towards excellence. Moreover, he has been actively involved with the local state authorities to achieve benchmark standards for tourism in Goa. He is appointed as Mentor for the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) Committee \u2013 Tourism vertical and is a part of the Managing Committee of the Travel & Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) as an Executive Member as well as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Goa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hailing from the beautiful island of Chorao in Goa, Mr. Ramos completed his schooling at Monte de Guirim School and later graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management, Goa. He attained his Master\u2019s in Business Administration from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. Furthermore, he has achieved prestigious academic certifications from IIM Ahmedabad, Cornell University and Nanyang University Singapore. <\/a>He has been previously awarded the \u2018Unsung Hero of the Hospitality Industry\u2019 in 2017 and \u2018Most Admired General Manager of the Decade\u2019 in 2018.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known to turnaround loss-making hotels, Mr. Ramos has brought numerous accolades to India including winning the coveted \u2018Best Hotel of the World\u2019<\/strong> by TripAdvisor in 2016 during his stint leading the legendary Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur where he made both Indians and Goans proud. The most recent recognition includes IHCL, Goa<\/u><\/strong> achieving the Best Team Achievement Award for business performance through innovation at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
