Accor\u2019s new project signings in China reached an all-time high in 2021 \u2013\u00a0<strong>leading to more than 520 hotels now in operation and an additional 350 under development<\/strong>. Accor is also on track to drive even greater momentum and growth success this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSurpassing 500 hotels in Greater China truly is a milestone of which we are extremely proud. According to research from Euromonitor International,\u00a0<strong>China is on track to become the world\u2019s #1 global tourism destination by 2030<\/strong>, while continuing to be a world leader in fueling outbound tourism to other countries. Meanwhile,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wttc.org\/Portals\/0\/Documents\/Reports\/2018\/Domestic%20Tourism-Importance%20Economic%20Impact-Dec%2018.pdf?ver=2021-02-25-182514-683#:~:text=China%20is%20now%20the%20leading,absolute%20growth%20in%20this%20period.&amp;text=income%20begin%20to%20explore%20their%20countries.\" target=\"_blank\">the World Travel &amp; Tourism Council (WTTC)<\/a>\u00a0has hailed\u00a0<strong>China as the world\u2019s #1 domestic tourism market<\/strong>. The WTTC cites China\u2019s 62% absolute growth in domestic tourism since 2008, pushing it up the list from fourth position to the top spot today. Some of the most popular, high-profile openings of 2021 included\u00a0<strong>Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay, Sofitel Hangzhou Yingguan Hotel, Pullman Jiaxing Pinghu Excellence Hotel, Ocean Spring Resort Chengdu \u2013 MGallery, Novotel Zhengzhou Airport Hotel<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Grand Mercure Pingxiang Kaiguang Hotel.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead to the remainder of 2022, The Year of the Tiger will bring some highly-anticipated new flagship hotels to life, such as Raffles at Galaxy Macau, Fairmont Xiamen, and Sofitel Shanghai North Bund. This year will also see the grand return of the beloved landmark, Swiss\u00f4tel Beijing, following three years of extensive renovations and restyling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accor\u2019s newest luxury brand,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/all.accor.com\/gb\/loyalty-program\/program\/brands.shtml\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Emblems Collection<\/strong><\/a>, will open its first hotel in the world in December 2022 &#8211; a magnificent flagship hotel,\u00a0<strong>Guiyang Art Centre Hotel, Emblems Collection<\/strong>, in Guizhou province. The new brand has a goal to create a unique global portfolio exceeding 60 boutique hotels and luxurious resorts by 2030, which will certainly include additional properties in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gallery Hotel Collection is a brand to watch \u2013 with not one, buttwo \u2013 hotels opening in Hong Kong this year.&nbsp;<strong>The Silveri Hong Kong \u2013 MGallery<\/strong>&nbsp;creates a serene retreat on Lantau Island, while&nbsp;<strong>AKI Hong Kong \u2013 MGallery<\/strong>&nbsp;complements the neighborhood buzz of Wan Chai with a stylish energy. Upcoming MGallery destinations include Shenzhen\u2019s vibrant Dalang District; Wuxi Dangkou Ancient Town; as well as Guangzhou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of China\u2019s top performing premium brands, Pullman, has multiple new properties slated to open in 2022, including&nbsp;<strong>Pullman Nanchang Xinlv, Pullman Shenzhen North Station, Pullman Chongqing Beibei,<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Pullman Wuhan Airport New City.<\/strong>&nbsp;These are in addition to&nbsp;<strong>Pullman Dali, Pullman Haikou<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Pullman Suzhou Taicang<\/strong>&nbsp;which have been open since January 2022. Greater China has more Pullman Hotels &amp; Resorts than any other country in the world, with nearly fifty hotels in operation, a record number of new project signings, and no signs of slowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The power of Accor\u2019s midscale and economy brands is also noteworthy. Novotel, a longtime favorite amongst travelers, continues to push forward with innovative new design concepts and exciting openings like&nbsp;<strong>Novotel Guangzhou Airport<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Novotel Chengdu Tianfu Living,<\/strong>&nbsp;bothset to open in 2022. Other upcoming destinations for the beloved brand include&nbsp;<strong>Novotel Wuxi Wanshan Lake, Novotel Xi&#8217;an Aden,<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Novotel Qingdao Downtown.<\/strong>&nbsp;Not to be outdone, one of Accor\u2019s top midscale brands, Mercure, has been singled out as one of the fastest growing brands in the world, according to a past ranking from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/brandfinance.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brand Finance<\/a>. Mercure currently has more than 110 hotels in Greater China, and nearly 100 more in development.
